Counselling PracticE

When is a good time to start therapy?

If you're thinking about it ... now is as good a time as any.

It is common for people to come to therapy once they have reached a crisis point, possibly after considering it for months or maybe years, but it doesn't have to be that way,  therapy can be a great way to get to know yourself and when you are feeling good, that can be a great time to reflect on times in your life when you haven't felt at your best, explore what was going on for you at the time and identify how you respond or behave when you are experiencing periods of stress, anxiety, depression, loss, etc.  So therapy can be a really useful preemptive wellbeing tool and a really smart investment in to 'future-proofing' your mental health.

If you are experiencing a crisis* moment, whereby you are feeling unhappy, unfulfilled or lost or perhaps you are recognising patterns and behaviours that are unhelpful and potentially destructive in your day-to-day life then don't wait. Get in touch to arrange a no-obligation consultation. Start now.

*if you are in immediate crisis with risk of harm to yourself or others contact: Your GP. 111, Local NHS trust crisis team, Samaritans or 999
